Features PharmAlarm Phone Version
With the help of Verizon, MIT specialists, and MIT app inventor, we have created the 2016 Verizon Innovative App challenge winner PharmAlarm, an app specifically designed to assist patients with Alzheimers and dementia in remembering to take medications and go to appointments.
The essential element of PharmAlarm is the texting feature.
When the app reminds the patient to take their medication and the patient doesnt press the "I have taken my medication" checkbox the app will then text a relative or caregiver with a message stating that “the patient has not taken their medication.” This element reduces the risk of patients forgetting to take their medications.
Also included in PharmAlarm is a symptom log or notes section, so caregivers can log the patient’s symptoms, and a calendar to enter in appointments.
PharmAlarm would be very beneficial to caregivers and families worldwide who care for someone with Alzheimers or dementia.
Although these diseases are heart breaking and stressful to a patient’s caregivers and family we hope that with PharmAlarm we will be able to improve the quality of life for those who regularly take medication and provide peace of mind for those who love them.
Note that this Version of PharmAlarm is intended for phones only.
When used on tablets, it may not function correctly.
